Caruso’s Americana at Brand turns Glendale into a holiday wonderland — a Mt. Shasta white fir more than 80 feet tall, thousands of lights and ornaments, nightly snowfall, Santa visits, and a glowing shopping district, all free for families. Confirm this season’s program at americanaatbrand.com.

The Americana at Brand’s holiday season (recently branded Winterland) is one of Southern California’s most picture-perfect holiday destinations. The centerpiece is the property’s towering Mt. Shasta white fir — more than 80 feet tall — adorned with thousands of lights and ornaments and hoisted into place on The Green to anchor the entire celebration.
Throughout the season, the property has featured nightly snowfall over the property starting in mid-November, special photo moments at Santa’s House, a Santa Brunch at one of the on-site restaurants, and live holiday entertainment.
The whole district is draped in lights, decorated storefronts, and seasonal music — a beautifully Instagrammable family-friendly evening that’s free to walk and enjoy. The sister Caruso property The Promenade at Westlake Village runs a parallel holiday program for families on that side of LA. Confirm this season’s confirmed events and dates at americanaatbrand.com.
Yes — walking the property, watching the nightly snowfall, seeing the 80-foot tree, and enjoying the holiday lights and music are all free. Santa photo sessions and Santa Brunch are paid premium experiences.
Nightly snowfall over The Green typically runs from mid-November through Christmas, with snowfalls at regular evening intervals after dark. The schedule is posted on the Americana’s Winterland page each season.
More than 80 feet tall — a Mt. Shasta white fir adorned with thousands of lights and ornaments. It anchors the property’s central Green plaza and is visible from blocks away.
Free parking is available in the Americana’s main garage at 889 Americana Way. The garage fills on busy holiday weekends; arrive earlier in the evening for easier parking.
Very — strollers are welcome throughout, the property is flat and well-lit, and the snowfall is a beloved kid favorite. The optional Santa’s House photo experience adds a paid premium moment if you’d like.

The Americana at Brand is an open-air shopping, dining, and residential district in downtown Glendale, developed by Caruso and opened in May 2008. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects on a 15.5-acre site between Brand Boulevard and Central Avenue, it centers on a two-acre landscaped green with a dancing fountain and a vintage-style trolley that loops the property. The complex blends about 900,000 square feet of retail with apartments and condominiums set above the streetscape.
The Glendale Galleria — Glendale’s three-story regional mall — is fully decorated for the holiday season each year, with a free Santa visit setup near the lower-level Apple store, decked corridors across all three levels, festive music, and extended hours through the season. Free to walk, free to visit Santa, free family atmosphere — paid photo packages optional.
